Experience the sound, the smell and the taste of a fully operational Danish whisky distillery. You will have the opportunity to experience the production from start to finish, from grain to bottle.
About the Tour
Our guided tours starts from the exact place, where Stauning Whisky produced their first commercial bottles. After a brief introduction to how it all started, you will follow the journey as the whisky production goes along. From the floor malting, you will see and smell the fruity grains and proceed to see the kilns and where the peat is burnt for our characteristic smoke. You'll proceed to see our 24 copper pot stills that are heated with direct fire underneath, and we'll tell you why this is a key element in our production. Afterwards, the tour will take you to see the casks and where the whisky is being matured, while hearing about cask influence on the whisky. A tour with and without tasting will last 90-120 minutes. After the tour, you'll have the opportunity to visit our distillery shop or go along for the optional whisky tasting.
The optional tasting
After the tour, you will have the option to join a whisky tasting, where you will taste three different Stauning whiskies. We'll serve you the whiskies and try to guide you best on how to taste and enjoy the lovely tasting notes that you'll find in our whisky.
