Claim Your Share of a Unique Cask

A fruit-forward interpretation of Stauning R.Y.E., matured first in virgin American oak before being transferred to a Tawny Port cask. The combination brings together the bold spice, ripe fruit and charred oak character of Stauning R.Y.E. with layers of dark berries, ripe plums and sweet red fruit. Made from locally sourced rye and barley, 100% floor-malted at the distillery, and produced from grain to glass using traditional production methods.

The whisky was distilled on June 21st, 2020. As the whisky continues towards eight years of maturation, the port cask adds richness and fruit to the rye while allowing the underlying spice and oak character to remain clearly present.

Expect notes of bold rye spice, ripe cherry, citrus and charred wood, layered with dark berries, ripe plums and sweet red fruit. The palate rounds out with dark chocolate and warm oak, leading into a long, rich and luscious finish.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your share of Cask no. 7913

This 200-litre cask is divided into 25 shares. One cask share yields approximately 8-11 bottles of 70cl whisky. Please note that the final number of bottles may vary due to 'The Devils Cut' and 'The Angels' Share'.

The Devils Cut: How much the cask absorbs - depends on the wood.

The Angels' Share: The evaporation during maturation - depends on the climate/weather/cask.

The Whisky:

- 1st Cask: Virgin American Oak
- 2nd Cask: Tawny Port Cask
- Spirit: Stauning R.Y.E. new make at 64% ABV
- Distilled: June 21st, 2020
- Maturation: 8 years at Stauning Whisky – expected bottling Q3 2028
- ABV: Bottled at 50% vol.
- Edition: Single Cask

How it works

Purchase your share
Once your purchase is completed, the cask share is yours.

We send your Owners Certificate
We will issue your Owners Certificate and send it by post. Included in the letter are also two tickets for a guided distillery tour with whisky tasting.

Invitation to Cask Owners Day
Each year, we invite cask owners to our Cask Owners Day in September. As the event approaches, you will receive an email with more information.

Email about bottling day
When the cask is nearing bottling and a date has been set, you will receive an email with details about the bottling day.

Email when your bottles are ready
Once the cask has been bottled, you will receive an email when your bottles are ready for collection.

Collection or shipping by appointment
Bottles are collected at the distillery. Shipping can only be arranged by appointment.

- Insurance: The cask is insured during the maturation period.

- Important: Pickup is generally required at the distillery - shipping is not available internationally.
