A classic twist on the most famous whisky cocktail of all… the Old Fashioned.

Taking inspiration from two of the most common offerings at the dinner table; bread and wine. Our Bread & Wine cocktail draws on the upfront flavours of rye bread and vanilla within Stauning HØST whisky, alongside the fantastic forest fruit notes gifted by the finishing of the whisky in selected Port barrels.

A small touch of Cassis and sugar delicately stirred together with Stauning HØST offers a wonderful fruit twist to the classic Old Fashioned cocktail. Garnished with an edible flower or rose petal for a beautiful delicate looking drink that can be enjoyed pre or post dinner or even alongside your main course.

What you need

Recipe

  • 5 cl Stauning HØST Whisky
  • Teaspoon of Cassis liqueur
  • Teaspoon of Sugar syrup
  • STEPS TO TAKE

    Instructions

  • Prepare a mixing glass and a rocks tumbler glass.
  • In the mixing glass, combine the Stauning HØST Whisky, liqueur, and syrup.
  • Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir gently for about 20-30 seconds. This will chill and dilute the mixture slightly.
  • Strain the mixture from the mixing glass into the rocks glass over a large block of ice.
  • (Optional) Consider garnishing with a few edible flowers.
