Stauning Peat Cablegram
Stauning Peat Cablegram
A forgotten classic highball that was invented back in 1908 by William T. "Cocktail Bill" Boothby. The San Francisco native described the drink in his book, The World's Drinks and How to Mix Them, as a "Bourbon Whiskey and Ginger Ale Highball with a little sour added...".
As with many cocktails there is room for experimenting and adaptation to one's personal likings. Once again, we've altered the long drink, also known as a Rye Buck, slightly to be made with our Smoked Single Malt Whisky, the Stauning Peat or Stauning Smoke.
Recipe
- 6 cl Stauning Peat or Stauning Smoke
- 2 cl of Ginger Sugar Syrup
- 1 cl of limejuice
- Top with club soda
- Garnish: Candied Ginger on a stick
Alternate version, if you cannot get your hands on some Ginger Sugar Syrup
- Use regular sugar syrup instead of Ginger Sugar Syrup
- Use Ginger Ale instead of Club Soda
