Rare Reserve Specialty Coffee – Rolling Barrel Aged Coffee

Together with Have a Coffee, we have created a new coffee with gentle notes from a cask that previously held Stauning Rye Whisky.

This is a unique possibility to taste a very special coffee that aims for a higher standard and puts “Infused Coffee” on the map in Denmark.

  • Arabica beans from Horácia De Moura / Brazil (h: 1200m)
  • Rolled in American White Oak Barrels that previously held Stauning Rye Whisky
  • Beans: Intense body, high sweetness, balanced acidity with notes of caramel, honey, sugar cane and chocolate
  • Notes from barrel: freshly baked rye bread, red fruits, ripe cherries, vanilla, lemon peel and oak

What is Rolling Barrel Aged Coffee?

Have a Coffee have refined 60 kilos of their specialty coffee beans (green) in a white oak barrel that was used to mature whisky. Thus the green beans extracts flavour from the previous content from the barrel.


In this case, the barrel previously held Stauning Rye Whisky. The barrel containing the beans was rolled 360 degrees every 24 hours for at least 21 days. Thereafter, the beans was roasted to perfection (City+), sorted and packed in valve bags.
