Bobby Burns Cocktail
Bobby Burns Cocktail
Whether or not a sip of Bobby Burns can wake the poet in you, we cannot say. What we can say is that this cocktail is named after Scottish poet Robert Burns, and it is almost poetic in its genius composition.
A lovely trio of sweet Vermouth, Scotch (blended whisky) and the French monk's liqeur, Dom Benedictine. At Stauning, we like to use our KAOS expression for a Bobby Burns, and for this particular cocktail, we love the Antica Formula sweet vermouth from Carpano.
Our KAOS whisky adds spice & complexity, while the smoke on the nose and palate is a little more restrained.
Recipe
- 6 cl Stauning KAOS - Triple Malt Whisky
- 2 cl sweet Vermouth (try e.g. Punt E Mes, Antica Formula or Cocchi Vermouth de Torino)
- 1.5 cl Dom Benedictine
Instructions
- Stir all ingredients over ice in a mixing glass
- Doublestrain into a lowball glass without ice
- Twist an orange peel over the glass to extract the oils and discard.
